Lesson 10: I study every day.
| The word for school is がっこう. Teachers are せんせい and students are がくせい (or せいと). College/university is だいがく (literally "big school"). A college student is だいがくせい. In order to say what grade you are in, or whether you're a freshman-senior, you say "I'm a --year student." Where -- is replaced with the correct year. | |

| For some other useful school vocabulary go here. To say "I am a student at the University of ----" you say: ---- だいがくの がくせい です。 or ---- だいがくの せいと です。 This also works for other types of schools like high schools, junior highs and elementary schools. Just insert the name of the school in place of ---- and the type of school in place of だいがく. にし こうこうの せいと です。 I'm a West High School student. Recall from Lesson
6 that にほんごを べんきょう します. means 'I study Japanese.'

Topic/Time Object Place Verb. We will now add a few more general times
